Molecular Genetics and Microbiology

Profile

Organisation profile

The Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine offers the opportunity to learn alongside a distinguished group of researchers with interests in Gene Expression, RNA Processing, DNA replication, Genomics, Gene Therapy, Molecular Basis of Disease, and the Mechanisms of Viral and Bacterial Pathogenesis. The Department plays a central role in several interdisciplinary research programs in the Health Science Center. Affiliated centers include the UF Genetics Institute, the Powell Gene Therapy Center, the Center for Epigenetics and the University of Florida Brain Institute. Our department takes pride in maintaining a modern scientific perspective and an extremely collegial atmosphere, fostering creativity and a free exchange of ideas. With the UF Genetics Institute now located in the brand new 285,000 sq ft building, this is a particularly exciting time for Genetics Research at the University of Florida.

UN Sustainable Development Goals
