Descripción
To meet the demands of the A19C-T006 'Phased-Array Antennas For Advanced Extremely High Frequency Satellite Communications', the MaXentric Technologies / North Carolina State University team proposes the PATISSERIE(Phased Array Transceiver Integrated into Semiconductor Substrate with Extendable Radiation Interface Elements), which provides a low cost phased-array antennas for advanced extremely high frequency (AEHF) satellite communications (SATCOM) based on CMOS integrated circuit technologies. During Phase II efforts, the team will develop reusable multi-octave core transceiver ICs at least covering over Ka and Q SATCOM bands. Extendable and self-calibrated 20-GHz Rx and 44-GHz Tx beamformer ICs will be also developed using 45-nm Silicon-on-insulator CMOS technology. The developed chipset will be accommodated into an excellent thermal management phased array module with chip antennas. High isolation between antenna elements will be designed for sharp phased array antenna pattern. MaXentric's goal is to develop an affordable AEHF 2D active electronically scanned array (AESA) for ground mobile SATCOM as an alternative to the current on-the-move vehicle mounted system.
